Just some of the reasons to buy the Alpine Magnum Stump Grinder – Trencher – Brush Cutter
1. At just 40 kilos it's easy to transport by small pickup, chipper truck, even a hatchback or estate car.
2. Operating costs are minimal.
3. The Alpine Magnum goes anywhere, doesn't leave tyre tracks, and doesn't need a trailer to tow it.
4. Because it doesn't leave tyre tracks, you can operate our machine and earn income all year round, rain or shine.
5. Our customers report making £50 to £100 an hour with our machine cutting stumps on golf courses, cemeteries, and difficult access areas.
6. Due to its light weight and slim design, many customers carry their Magnum in their vehicle at all times -saving time on returning to the workshop to get a trailer version, saving on employee wages, fuel, and eliminating extra customer disturbance.
7. The Magnum cuts stumps as fast or faster than many larger, more expensive machines.
8. As well as grinding stumps, the Magnum will cut a neat trench up to 20 inches deep: great for rabbit-proof fencing, buried cabling, and other trenching operations.
9. It will also cut brush more efficiently than a conventional brushcutter by taking out roots as well as top-growth.
10. With the Stihl TS760 cut off attachment it can be used for cutting concrete or rebar.
11. Liability insurance is cheaper than for trailer model stump grinders.
12. High resale value -if you look for used tree equipment you will see that very few people want to sell our stump grinder. We build a quality product and stand behind it.
13. Due to the Magnum's 2-stroke engine you can operate on hill sides without burning it up, unlike 4-stroke grinders which must be operated on the level or suffer oil starvation.
14. Minimise operator fatigue - an important consideration for Health and Safety as well as getting best value from your machinery and staff. Repositioning to attack the stump from a different angle barely needs thinking about - no yanking and heaving, just swing it around.

And Some Cons . . .
None, really!
But in the interests of balance it is fair to address concerns others have raised:
1. "It's lightweight, it must be a flimsy construction"
Not so! As simple as that. The machine is made of robust aerospace alloys to withstand the rough treatment it is designed to expect.
See the parts page for more details of construction and materials.2. "It's tiny, it wouldn't cope with the bigger stumps"
Large stumps require not size, but power. The Magnum delivers plenty of power to where it's needed.
There is no maximum size stump.
It is possible a much bigger machine might grind a little quicker, but consider the time and struggle getting the machine to the stump - while the Magnum is busy getting the job done.
See parts, endorsements, and stump removal pages.
3. "The expense."
We do not claim to be offering a cheap machine. But we are offering a highly economic machine that will repay you many times over.
Machines that will tackle large stumps (as this will) are much more expensive.
Machines of similar price will consume valuable time getting to the stump, take longer to do a lesser job, and be idle when they can't get to the stump.
Cheaper machines are available, and they are very good at, er . . . peeling apples? (Until they break).
No machine will pay for itself as quickly as this one.
4. "It looks weird"
That's just the shock of the new. Don't worry about it. Its beauty will soon become apparent.
That last one took some thinking and now I've dried up. If you have a doubt, objection or concern; please let me know and I'll answer it, and include it on this page.
